Week Ending 29 April 2022 (Week 43) The AWEX EMI finished 10¢ higher (+0.7%) in Australian currency and 42¢ lower (-4.1%) in US currency when sales resumed in Week 43 after the Easter Break. 48,760 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 43,588 bales in the last sale (Week 41). 10.7% of the offering was passed in after 4.3% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale. 43,550 bales were sold. AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $67.2 million ($1,543 per bale), taking the season total to $2.084 billion ($1,600 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 10.6% greater than in 2020/21.
