Week Ending 3 December 2021 (Week 22) The AWEX EMI finished 5¢ higher (+0.4%) in Australian currency and 2¢ lower (-0.2%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle in Week 22. 39,577 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 36,814 bales last sale. 9.9% of the offering was passed in after 4.9% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale. 35,678 bales were sold. AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $58.2 million ($1,631 per bale), taking the season total to $995.9 million ($1,611 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 21.8% greater than in 2020/21.
