Week Ending 26 November 2021 (Week 21) The AWEX EMI finished 17¢ higher (+1.3%) in Australian currency and 4¢ higher (+0.4%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle in Week 21. 36,814 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 40,241 bales last sale. 7.1% of the offering was passed in after 6.7% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale. 34,203 bales were sold. AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $54.9 million ($1,604 per bale), taking the season total to $937.7 million ($1,611 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 22.5% greater than in 2020/21. The New Zealand Merino Company also offered 911 bales in Melbourne on Wednesday, of which 24.9% were passed in.
