Week Ending 5 October 2018 (Week 14)
The AWEX EMI finished at 1992¢, 21¢ lower (-1.0%) in Australian currency and 45¢ lower (-3.1%) in US currency at sales
in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle this week.
It brought the closing EMI under the 2000¢ mark for the first time since sales resumed in Week 6, after the mid-year break.
38,317 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 32,985 bales last sale. 10.7% of the offering was passed in.
AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $81.4 million ($2,379 per bale), taking the season total to $910.0 million
(which was also $2,379 per bale).
The New Zealand Merino Company also offered 944 bales in Melbourne on Wednesday, of which 19.8% were passed in.
