Week 15 Wool Market Report
AWIS WOOL MARKET REVIEW
Week Ending 12 October 2018 (Week 15)
The AWEX EMI finished 31¢ higher (+1.6%) in Australian currency and 20¢ higher (+1.4%) in US currency at sales in
Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle this week.
The rise in the EMI reversed three weeks of falls, thus repeating a mini-cycle that has been seen a number of times since the
market started on its continuous upward path at the beginning of last year.
32,072 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 38,317 bales last sale. 7.4% of the offering was passed in.
AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $68.7 million ($2,312 per bale), taking the season total to $978.7 million
($2,379 per bale).
