The AWEX EMI finished 32¢ higher (+2.1%) in Australian currency and 26¢ higher (+2.6%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle this week.
28,149 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 33,548 bales last sale. 7.7% of the offering was passed in.
AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $45.8 million ($1,763 per bale), taking the season total to $503.8 million ($1,735 per bale). The progressive number of bales sold at auction this season is 29.6% less than in 2018/19.
