Sales continued on a positive note when the AWEX EMI finished 13¢ higher (+0.7%) in Australian currency and 3¢ higher
(+0.2%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle this week.
51,703 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 47,593 bales last sale. 6.7% of the offering was passed in.
It was the largest sale of the season; and the first time 50,000 has been exceeded.
AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $101.2 million ($2,098 per bale), taking the season total to $1.737 billion
($2,227 per bale).
