The AWEX EMI finished 30¢ higher (+2.3%) in Australian currency and 34¢ higher (+3.4%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle in Week 44.
47,446 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 40,402 bales last sale. 6.4% of the offering was passed in after 6.1% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale. 44,396 bales were sold.
AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $68.7 million ($1,547 per bale), taking the season total to $1.681 billion ($1,375 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 15.8% greater than in 2019/20.
