Week Ending 10 September 2021 (Week 10) The AWEX EMI finished 29¢ higher (+2.2%) in Australian currency and 31¢ higher (+3.2%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle in Week 10. 31,698 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 34,184 bales last sale. 9.1% of the offering was passed in after 6.7% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale. 28,826 bales were sold. AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $44.3 million ($1,536 per bale), taking the season total to $349.4 million ($1,565 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 21.8% greater than in 2020/21. The New Zealand Merino Company also offered 1,298 bales in Melbourne on Wednesday, of which 13.4% were passed in.
