The AWEX EMI finished at 1422¢, 27¢ lower (-1.9%) in Australian currency and 13¢ lower (-1.3%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle in Week 32. 47,715 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 40,603 bales last sale. 17.1% of the offering was passed in after 4.1% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale. 39,570 bales were sold. AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $67.3 million ($1,701 per bale), taking the season total to $1.432 billion ($1,607 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 14.3% greater than in 2020/21.
