Wedderburn Shearing School

Wedderburn Community House in partnership with Fox & Lillie Rural, Shearer & Wool Handlers Inc. and the local branch of the VFF, present Wedderburn Shearing School 2019.

Taking place in September/October 2019, Wedderburn Shearing School hosts 12 students over two weeks for intense training in shearing and wool handling.

At the completion of their course, participants gain a Certificate II in Shearing and a Certificate II in Wool Handling and leave feeling confident in their ability to work in any shearing shed environment and to operate as part of team.

The Wedderburn Shearing School includes:

  • Fully equipped shearing shed and sheep
  • Education and training as well as assistance from local volunteers
  • Accommodation
  • Breakfast, home cooked morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea

Following the two week school, visitors are invited to join Wedderburn Community’s Open Day, for a BBQ, kindly provided by the local Lions Club.
