Week Ending 31 January 2020 (Week 31).
The AWEX EMI finished at 1548¢, 28¢ lower (-1.8%) in Australian currency and 39¢ lower (-3.6%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle in Week 31.
33,700 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 52,666 bales last sale. 28.8% of the offering was passed in after 14.9% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale.
AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $36.6 million ($1,525 per bale), taking the season total to $1.228 billion ($1,717 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 16.3% less than in 2018/19.
