The AWEX EMI finished 32¢ higher (+3.7%) in Australian currency and 12¢ higher (+1.9%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle in Week 11.
19,638 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 27,155 bales last sale. 5.7% of the offering was passed in after 13.4% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale. 18,527 bales were sold.
AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $19.8 million ($1,069 per bale), taking the season total to $231.7 million ($1,156 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 6.3% greater than in 2019/20.
