Week Ending 26 August 2022 (Week 08) The AWEX EMI was unchanged, in Australian currency and 3¢ lower (-0.3%) in US currency at sales in in Sydney and Melbourne in Week 08. 37,431 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 41,915 bales last sale when all here centre sold. 12.6% of the offering was passed in after 3.8% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale. 32,712 bales were sold. AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $49.6 million ($1,516 per bale), taking the season total to $325.0 million ($1,602 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 21.3% greater % less than in 2020/21.
