Week Ending 16 September 2022 (Week 11) The AWEX EMI finished at 1306¢, 13¢ lower (-1.0%) in Australian currency and 7¢ lower (-0.8%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle in Week 11. 35,413 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 34,925 bales last sale. 11.3% of the offering was passed in after 3.4% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale. 31,420 bales were sold. AWEX reported that the value of the wool sold was $51.1 million ($1,626 per bale), taking the season total to $474.8 million ($1,603 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now17.5% greater than in 2021/22. The New Zealand Merino Company also offered 2,209 bales in Melbourne on Wednesday, of which 23.2% were passed in.
