Week Ending 14 October 2022 (Week 15) The AWEX EMI finished 36¢ higher (+2.9%) in Australian currency and 10¢ lower (-1.2%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle in Week 15. 31,023 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 33,393 bales last sale. 4.3% of the offering was passed in after 7.0% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale. 29,683 bales were sold. AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $48.9 million ($1,647 per bale), taking the season total to $657.0 million ($1,604 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 7.7% greater than in 2021/22. The New Zealand Merino Company also offered 1,084 bales in Melbourne on Tuesday, of which 19.7% were passed in.
