Sheepvention is Hamilton Pastoral and Agricultural Society’s biggest farming event with over 25, 000 visitors attending last year’s show in regional Victoria. With a mix of competitions, entertainment, food and fashion, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Events and Competitions include;

Sheep Show; The Hamilton and Western District Sheep Show is held as part of Sheepvention. This year Merino and Poll Merino will feature, with the Australian Supreme Merino Ewe being awarded. Approximately 1000 sheep will be exhibited. The show reflects the diversity and history of sheep breeding in Australia, with representations from the heritage breeds such as the Lincoln and English Leicesters, the prime lamb breeds, dual purpose breeds and the wool breeds.

Ram Sale; The Pen of 5 Ram Sale is one of the most successful events held at Sheepvention. In 2013 over $753,000 worth of rams were sold with a clearance rate of 80%. The top priced rams were sold for $10,000 each and were from Wurrock, Nerstane & Glenlea Park Studs . The average priced ram was $2176 .
