The market again fell sharply when AWEX EMI finished at 1375¢, 122¢ lower (-8.1%) in Australian currency and 91¢ lower (-9.0%) in US currency at sales in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle this week.
25,272 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 26,495 bales last sale. 33.7% of the offering was passed in; and 18.4% of the initial offering was withdrawn prior to sale.
Only three buyers on Wednesday and two on Thursday bought more than 10% of the sold bales.
AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $25.4 million ($1,516 per bale), taking the season total to $265.9 million ($1,771 per bale).
The New Zealand Merino Company also offered 1,125 bales in Melbourne on Thursday, of which 67.5% were passed in and 16.8% were withdrawn before sale.
