The AWEX EMI finished 20¢ higher (+1.4%) in Australian currency and 3¢ higher (+0.3%) in US currency at sales in Sydney and Melbourne in Week 52.
33,330 bales were on offer nationally, compared with 42,496 bales last sale. 5.1% of the offering was passed in after 4.0% of the potential offering was withdrawn prior to sale, leaving 31,635 bales as sold.
AWEX reports that the value of the wool sold was $51.3 million ($1,622 per bale), taking the season total to $2.162 billion ($1,413 per bale). The number of bales sold at auction this season is now 26.5% greater than in 2019/20.
